Source Transmission over Networks

We studied the problem of lossless transmission of a set of correlated sources over a deterministic relay network for two traffic requirements, in two slightly different scenarios: In distributed multicast, where the set of sources have to be delivered to a set of destinations; And in the source exchange problem, where all the nodes with access to a source should be able to reconstruct all other sources observed at other nodes. We develop achievable rate regions and outer bounds for both these situations. For linear deterministic networks, these bounds coincide, yielding a complete characterization.
